Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay was born on 15 September 1915 in Ogden, Utah. Fawn MacKay was born into the Mormon Church's founding family, applied her brilliant literary skills and impressive abilities to research in order to write the psycho-historical biographies about Joseph Smith. The book, No Man is a Master of My History was published in 1945. It was derived from the sermon title given by Joseph Smith in 1844, when he amazed his audience with his words: "You are not my friend and you've never listened to my thoughts. My history is not known to anyone. I cannot tell it. Fawn has written the 29-year-old Fawn. From that point the three authors have risen to this challenge. Many have abused him some have deified him; some have even attempted to make a diagnostics. It's not that documents are lacking the issue is that they are fiercely contradictory. It's not an easy job to find these records, separating first-hand accounts from the third-hand versions and then combining Mormon stories with other ones to form a cohesive collage. This is both exciting, as well as instructive. Fawn Brodie's professional life was committed to this cause.
