Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons: a superstar who managed to fully transition from country to the mainstream becoming an icon of pop culture for the long haul and then conquering the world by the way. Swift has shed her country roots she had acquired like it was second nature and proved that she was one of the top pop singers and songwriters in her generation. Swift could make the experience personal, while also recording the mood. This was evident in her early hits including the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter finding out the person she really was, and, in doing so, gaining the mass market. Fearless became a massive success and not just in America, with six of its songs were certified platinum on the backs of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and Belong with Me. But it also performed well around all over the world. Speak Now delivered almost two years after that, and it consolidated the popularity and helped propel Swift up the ranks of superstardom. It was only after that her popularity grew exponentially over her subsequent three albums- Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) -- and found her moving assuredly into a pop realm in which she was already a part. She was at the highest of the pop charts even as she cut back on her appearance by releasing her folklore album with siblings in 2020 and Evermore.
