Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family kids who would grow with them eventually. She learned early how to get out of difficulties through her vibrant and imaginative imagination. Before she learned to read and write Dolly Parton was composing her own music. The guitar that she first received was presented by her mother when she was eight. The singer began her singing career at the Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. Gold Band Records is a small, independent label. The singer established a name for herself locally while still at high school, but always dreamed of having a bigger stage. After graduating from high school in 1964, she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to join his syndicated show in the years prior to this. Parton accepted the job and in the year 1967, she signed to RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. But she resigned from the show in 1974, as her own songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their partnership with Wagoner, wrote I Will Always Love You and saw it climb to Number. First time, in 1974.
